Welcome to City of God
Before City of God had a logo or a meeting place, there was a simple hunger: “Lord, let Your presence be our home.” A few of us gathered in living rooms, praying into the night, learning to listen, to worship, together. We discovered that when Jesus is truly welcomed, He heals what’s broken, restores what’s lost, and calls ordinary people into extraordinary purpose.
That discovery became our heartbeat. City of God is a church with a mandate to raise generals for the Lord Jesus—men and women forged in prayer, grounded in Scripture, and shaped by holiness and love. We are a house of deliverance, holiness, and breakthrough. Not as slogans, but as lived reality: chains fall, burdens lift, and people step into the freedom Christ purchased. We’ve watched families mended, minds renewed, and callings reawakened in the light of His presence.
God has also given us a message to preach—the message of the Kingdom of God. It is sourced directly from heaven, carrying undiluted truth inspired by the Holy Spirit, with Jesus as the centerpiece. This Word runs ahead of us, draws us upward, and anchors us in grace and truth. When we gather, we don’t chase moments; we ascend into the nearness of the Living God, joining the worship of heaven, and we leave commissioned to love our neighbours and serve our cities.
Worship is how we breathe. It’s not a slot in the service; it’s our daily ascent. In that nearness, Scripture becomes fire in our bones, prayer becomes conversation, and the Spirit shapes character as surely as He releases power. We come with the week’s dust on our feet and leave with courage, clarity, and a holy urgency to carry Christ into Monday.
But presence becomes purpose. That’s why our targets are streets and schools, homes and hospitals and online spaces—speaking of the Kingdom with humility and boldness. We make room for those who feel far, those returning, and those still deciding. We’ve seen God nurture new believers into mature sons and daughters who reflect Jesus in character and authority. Our dream is simple and vast: City of God communities in every city for Christ—beginning here in England and, by grace, to the ends of the earth.
On any given Sunday, you’ll meet worshippers with upraised hands and quiet tears, prayer teams ready to stand with you, teachers opening the Scriptures with clarity, and friends who remember your name. You’ll feel the simplicity of family and the strength of an army being trained—small groups that disciple, prayer gatherings that contend, and practical equipping that turns faith into everyday mission.
If you’re weary, come for deliverance. If you’re hungry, come for holiness. If you’re stuck, come for breakthrough. And if something in you whispers that you were made for more, come be trained—heart and hands—to carry Jesus to your world. This is City of God: a people ascending in worship, growing in Christ, and going with the Gospel until every postcode knows the kindness and kingship of Jesus.
